Are you looking for the aesthetically pleasing look of wood siding but are concerned with the upkeep? While wood siding can add the punch of color and give your home the curb appeal you are looking for, it will also add a list of extra chores to your to do list! This where engineered wood siding comes in…

KWP Engineered Wood Siding offers the look of wood without all the maintenance.

Traditional wood siding vs. engineered wood siding

Built to Last

In engineered wood siding, the combined treated wood strands or fibers and adhesive resins produces a composite material which is stronger than natural wood. Moreover, the added water-resistant waxes allow the siding to resist decay and humidity.

Easy cleaning and maintenance

When it comes to cleaning, siding must be washed annually using non-abrasive household cleansers according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. It is important to test cleansers on a small area to ensure they do not damage the finish. This applies to both types of wood siding.

Follow these four easy steps:

  1. Close all windows and doors and cover shrubs or flowers in close proximity to the house.
  2. Rinse siding with a hose to get rid of surface dirt and dust.
  3. Wash with warm water and mild detergent. Mix the solution in a bucket and use a large brush to wash the siding from top to bottom.
  4. Rinse entire home right away from top to bottom (with a hose) and make sure all soap and debris are removed.

Pre-Primed to hold paint

Traditional wood siding must be painted or stained frequently or it will begin to rot or warp (on average every 3-5 years). Engineered wood siding on the other hand, is pre-primed to hold paint. In fact, our unique painting process plays a huge role in providing the authentic look of wood without any of the upkeep.

Moreover, KWP backs its paint finish by offering a 25-Finish limited Warranty.
